As a former law enforcement officer and former prosecutor, Camara possesses a very unique professional background.  It is those unique experiences that have created in him a desire to raise the standard of responsibility within the criminal justice system. He wholeheartedly and passionately believes in the right to counsel for anyone accused of a crime. Camara's steadfast belief in that great right has been strengthened over the years as a consequence of his experiences and he continues to dedicate his career to supporting and protecting that right. 

A native Washingtonian, Camara is a graduate of Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania where he earned a B.A. in criminal justice on a full athletic scholarship. Soon after graduation Camara pursued a career in law enforcement, serving as a deputy sheriff for nearly five years, during which he functioned as an operator on the Sheriff's Emergency Response Team (tactical team), patrolled, responded to calls for service, investigated various crimes, worked in the adult detention center and also patrolled and secured the county courthouse. Having possessed a passion for helping people on a different level, Mintz returned to school and earned his Juris Doctorate from Catholic University, Columbus School of Law.

 

Camara then jined the Charles County State's Attorney's Office where  personally handled thousands of cases involving a wide range of charges ranging from traffic offenses to manslaughter. As a former law enforcement officer and now a skilled trial lawyer, he possesses a unique and specific knowledge regarding the manner in which police investigate crimes as well as how prosecutors prepare their cases. Camara is committed to using that special knowledge and skill to benefit his each and every one of his clients. 

In 2014 Camara partnered with Erick Gracia, Jr. after the two met as young prosecutors both cutting their teeth in Charles County District and Circuit Court. Camara and Erick actually shared an office for a time and it was during that time they realized that they shared the same passion for trial practice. Together, the two founded the burgeoning law firm, Gracia & Mintz, LLC. located in the Greater Washington DC metropolitan area.  The firm works diligently to represent each of their clients as if the case was their own. Camara’s ability to draw from his unmatched professional experiences sets him apart from most other attorneys in the DC and Maryland area. Having been enthusiastically described as charismatic, personable, ethical, and dedicated, Camara is well respected by his peers and is passionate about aggressively defending each and every one of his clients.
